Rhizome Segments Form Shoots, Whereas Leaf Cuttings Form Shoots and Rhizomes in Eucodonia ‘Adele’ Treated with Benzyladenine

چکیده
Eucodonia ‘Adele’ initiates seasonal shoot growth from a scaly rhizome. Larger rhizome segments (>2.5 cm) produced shoots at greater percentage compared with smaller segments. Shoots on larger were initiated sooner and had longer length. However, when formation efficiency was calculated as the number of potential per original stock rhizome, more efficient, producing three to four times many shoots. Rhizome (2.5 soaked overnight in benzyladenine (BA) (four shoots) untreated or water-soaked rhizomes (0.3 0.7 shoot, respectively). The consists central stem-like core surrounded by numerous leaf-like scales. Scales appear be storage leaf tissue based anatomy presence amyloplasts. New initiate axillary formed scale attachment. Isolated individual scales also have capacity for adventitious formation, but only form about 25% isolated Leaf cuttings capable shoots, roots, rhizomes. Untreated petiole lamina cut approximately cutting less than one cutting. Benzyladenine-treated did not show an increase initiation, soaking water BA increased ∼1.5 This work presents efficient systems regenerating that can used produce plants stem system pot plant.

On the growth and form of shoots.
Growing plant stems and shoots exhibit a variety of shapes that embody growth in response to various stimuli. Building on experimental observations, we provide a quantitative biophysical theory for these shapes by accounting for the inherent observed passive and active effects: (i) the active controllable growth response of the shoot in response to its orientation relative to gravity, (ii) prop...
متن کاملPropagation of Thornless Blackberries Utilizing Adventitious Shoots from Root Cuttings
Studies were conducted in early 2003 to determine the effect of root source and length on yield of adventitious shoots and plant yield from root cuttings of Arkansas-developed thornless blackberries. In the first study, roots from ‘Arapaho’ and ‘Apache’ plants grown in an aboveground bed containing commercial potting soil were compared to field-grown roots. Bed-grown roots averaged 6.9 shoots p...

By the end of this year, when Germany crowns the 'word of the year', one of the strongest contenders to replace last year's 'Finanzkrise' (financial crisis) has to be the almost unpronounceable 'Abwrackprämie' or scrappage fee. Introduced with effect from 27 January under the original name of 'Umweltprämie' (environment reward) with a strictly limited budget, this scheme pays out 2,500 Euros to...
متن کاملInduction of multiple shoots from leaf segments, in vitro-flowering and fruiting of a dwarf tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum).
Multiple shoots were induced from leaf explants of Lycopersicon esculentum cultivar MicroTom, within 20-25d, on MS medium supplemented with 8.9 microM benzylaminopurine (BAP)+1.14 microM indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). For rooting, elongated microshoots were excised and transferred onto MS medium supplemented with 4.9 microM indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). Well-developed roots and flower raceme were o...
متن کاملGlyphosate (Ab)sorption by Shoots and Rhizomes of Native versus Hybrid Cattail (Typha)
Wetlands in the Prairie Pothole Region of North America are integrated with farmland and contain mixtures of herbicide contaminants. Passive nonfacilitated diffusion is how most herbicides can move across plant membranes, making this perhaps an important process by which herbicide contaminants are absorbed by wetland vegetation. Prairie wetlands are dominated by native cattail (Typha latifolia)...
